Promotion and 8th Grade Events

Dear 8th Grade Students and Families:

At E.A. Hall Middle School promotion is more than a celebration; it is a recognition of academic excellence and readiness for high school.  Our goal is to honor students who have demonstrated strong effort in their coursework, consistent attendance, and positive citizenship throughout the three years.

Below are the eligibility criteria for our end-of-the-year events.  These guidelines reflect our commitment to preparing every student for a successful transition to high school.

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony Eligibility
  • To participate in the Promotion Ceremony, students must meet the following requirements:
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA for the 8th-grade year

End-of-Year Activities Eligibility (Includes 8th Grade Dance, Field Trip, and other celebratory events)
Participation in end-of-year activities is contingent upon the following:
  • No major disciplinary incidents during the school year
  • No unexcused absences. Students may clear absences through attendance at Friday or Saturday Academy. Here is the calendar for Saturday Academy.
  • Continued demonstration of respectful and appropriate behavior aligned with school and district expectations.

We also want you to know that this school year, we will engage our stakeholders, including families, students, and staff, to review and refine our promotion and activities policy for the following school year.  Your input will help ensure our policy continues to emphasize academic excellence and high school readiness.

If you have any questions about your student’s eligibility, please contact our school administration or our counseling team. Thank you for your partnership in helping our students finish strong and with pride.
